Emirates and flydubai have jointly carried over five million passengers in 2024, marking a significant 36 percent increase compared to the previous year. The achievement highlights the success of their strategic partnership, which has been in operation since 2017, and supports Dubai’s D33 economic vision to enhance the emirate’s position as a leading global hub for trade, tourism, and transport. Since the beginning of their collaboration, Emirates and flydubai have expanded their combined network from 29 cities to 240 destinations across more than 100 countries.

Their partnership has offered passengers a wide range of benefits, including seamless on-ground services, streamlined check-in processes, efficient baggage transfers, and optimized flight schedules. Access through Dubai International Airport’s Terminal 3 has further strengthened the ease of connectivity for travelers. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Group and Chairman of flydubai, credited the milestone to the “collaborative excellence” of the two airlines. He emphasized that the partnership has enhanced travel experiences by offering more flight options and global connectivity.
Sheikh Ahmed also noted that the growth of the network is crucial to Dubai’s goal of becoming one of the most connected cities worldwide. Currently, passengers can choose from an average of 295 daily codeshare flights, significantly increasing flexibility and choice. Flydubai alone operates over 330 weekly flights from Terminal 3 to destinations including Zanzibar, Kathmandu, Krabi, Riyadh, and Naples. Emirates customers benefit from access to more than 132 flydubai destinations, while flydubai passengers have greater connectivity through Emirates’ network of over 142 destinations.
The partnership has also seen a marked increase in premium travel demand, with a 31 percent growth in premium cabin bookings. This trend reflects the continued strength and appeal of the airlines’ product offerings. Both carriers have prioritized service quality, expanding options for travelers seeking higher-end experiences. In the past year, Emirates launched new routes to Bogotá in Colombia and Antananarivo in Madagascar, and is preparing to add Da Nang, Siem Reap, and Shenzhen to its summer schedule.
Flydubai has also expanded its network with 10 new destinations, including popular summer spots such as Antalya, Basel, and Al Alamein. Operating from Dubai, flydubai has built a network that now serves over 130 destinations with a fleet of 89 aircraft. Together, Emirates and flydubai continue to strengthen Dubai’s position as a key gateway for international travel, contributing to the city’s ambition of becoming a major economic and tourism center. – By MENA Newswire News Desk.
